Bluetooth is a wireless radio communication standard designed for use over short ranges (within 10 m). This
chapter describes how to use the Bluetooth interface on the AG-Star.
4.1

Bluetooth Wireless Technology on the AG-Star Receiver

Bluetooth wireless technology is configured on the AG-Star's internal COM2 port. After your computer is
configured for Bluetooth operation, use HyperTerminal or NovAtel Connect to communicate through COM2.
To log data over the Bluetooth port, specify COM2 as the output port (e.g. log com2 bestposa ontime 1).
4.2

Pairing with a new AG-Star

Ensure that your computer is equipped with a built-in, or external plug-in, Bluetooth adapter and
is already configured with the appropriate Bluetooth driver.
The information in this section is specific to pairing an AG-Star with a Windows 7 based
computer.
For information about pairing the AG-Star with other Bluetooth capable devices, refer to the
device's user documentation.
To pair with an AG-Star in range:
1. Power on the AG-Star.
2. On the computer, double-click the Bluetooth icon in the notification area, see Figure 9, Bluetooth Icon.
The Bluetooth Devices window opens, see Figure 10 on page 29.
