Miter Slot-Disc
Parallelism
If the miter slot is not parallel with the disc,
workpieces may not be sanded correctly when
using the miter gauge.
Tools Needed
Combination Square ........................................... 1
To check and adjust the miter slot parallel with
the sanding disc:
1.
DISCONNECT SANDER FROM POWER!
2.
Remove the miter gauge, then place a combi-
nation square with the 90º square in the miter
slot, as shown in Figure 89.

Slide the square to the other side and check
to see if the distance from the slot to the
sanding disc is the same.
—If the distance is the same, no adjustments
need to be made.
—If the distance is not the same from side to
side, loosen the screws (see Figure 63 on
Page 38) that secure the work table arm to

the work table and adjust the table so it is
approximately
belt across its entire length.
4.
Repeat Step 3 and adjust the table as needed
until the miter slot is parallel with the sanding
disc on both sides.
