Improper use of self-locking nuts

► Always replace self-locking nuts with new self-locking nuts after disassembly.
Adjustments to match the concrete physical and mental condition of the user should always be made in the user's
presence.
All parts of the product should be cleaned thoroughly before adjustments are made.
Concrete settings (e.g. seat and back upholstery etc.) are described in the following sections with the respective
components.
The tools required for adjustments and maintenance tasks as well as the torque values for screw connections are
listed in the section "Technical data" (see Page 32 ff.).

7.2 Techniques for using a wheelchair

Information and practical tips on fundamental techniques for using the wheelchair can be found in the brochure
"Techniques for Using a Wheelchair" which can be obtained from the manufacturer under reference number
646D60.
Further information on obtaining the brochure can be provided by the qualified personnel supplying the wheelchair
or by Ottobock Service (addresses: see back inside cover or back cover).

7.3 Getting in/transferring

CAUTION
Incorrect handling when getting in
Falling, tipping or rolling away due to incorrect handling
► Before getting into/out of the wheelchair, always secure it against rolling away.
To get into the wheelchair, the side panels or frame tubes can be used as supports.

7.4 Footrests

The user's feet can be placed on the footrest.
Depending on the order, a single-panel footplate (see Fig. 6; see Fig. 7) or single-panel footplate with upturn (see
Fig. 8) can be installed.
An anti-slip coating may also be applied to the footplate (see Fig. 8).
