6.9 Adapting your wheelchair to the patient's growth

With this wheelchair type, the frame can be extended in a few assembly steps. This provides the user with more
depth adjustments during the period of use.
1) Remove the rear wheels.
2) Loosen the lower screws on the rear frame components (the screw head being located underneath the frame)
see fig. 26, item 1).
3) Loosen the upper screws on the front frame components (see fig. 26, item 2). Each screw to be loosened also
serves as the attachment screw for the side panel.
4) Pull back the rear frame as far as desired until you find another hole in the frame.
5) Screw the rear screws into the frame bores (see fig. 26, item 1).
6) Screw the front screws into the frame together with the side panel and the half shell.
7) Attach the plastic clips supplied at the points that are freed up between the frame components. For an exten
sion of 20 mm, 2 plastic clips have to be installed on each side, for an extension of 40 mm, 4 plastic clips on
each side.
8) As needed: Install the seat tube extensions on the rear of the seat tubes. If required, slightly fold the seat, slide
the desired extension onto the seat tubes and refit the seat upholstery.
9) Firmly retighten the screws on the frame components.
