7 .20 Real-time backup

Using the real-time backup function, you can output
the exposed images to media at the same time as the
study ends .

Points to be confirmed
before use

• Before connecting the media used to this device, run a
virus scan to check it for virus infections .
• Do not connect any media for any other reasons other
than to carry out real-time backups . If you connect
other media, the backup drive will be changed and
normal output will be disabled .
• Do not remove the media while the access lamp to the
media is on . Otherwise, data may be lost .

Media-related matters

IMPORTANT

• A USB memory, SD card and DVD-RAM can be used
as the backup media . However, two or more media
cannot be used simultaneously .
• Check beforehand that the PDI files being output to
media can be retrieved using another company's sys-
tems .
• Access to some types of media via the encryption
function is denied if you do not enter the correct pass-
word the predetermined number of times . For optimal
results, read the operation manuals carefully before
using the media .
• The following lists recommended media . For purchase
information, contact Konica Minolta technical repre-
sentatives .

DVD-RAM media
• When using the DVD-RAM, format it beforehand ac-
cording to the below .
– File system: UDF 2.01 (default)
– Allocation unit size: 2048 bytes
• When the "Burn a Disc" dialog box is displayed when
you use the DVD-RAM, select "Use as the USB flash
drive" .
• For details of the DVD-RAM and other media, refer to
their respective operation manuals . If you do not fol-
low the relevant operating procedure(s) described in
the manual, your data may not be backed up correctly .
• If you do not correctly write data to the DVD-RAM, it
may result in a read error . In this case, redo the output
to media process from the start .
• Depending on the media used, access to the task tray
may be required in order to start the tool . If you want
to display the task tray on this device, contact Konica
Minolta technical representatives .
