9.1

Putting the UPS in maintenance bypass mode

During normal operation of the UPS, the maintenance bypass switches are positioned as shown in
Figure 67.

To put the system in maintenance bypass mode:
1.
Verify that the bypass indicator is lit on the static switch panel (see Figure 7).
(If it is not lit, the UPS cannot go into bypass mode.)
2.
On the static switch panel (see Figure 7), press the INV/BYP button twice to put the UPS in bypass
mode.
3.
Verify that the bypass indicator is lit on the controller.
Then, using the three maintenance bypass switches on the UPS rear:

Switch ON the MAINTENANCE BYPASS switch (the middle switch).
5.
Switch OFF the ac OUTPUT switch (the right-side switch).
6.
Switch OFF the rectifier INPUT switch (the left-side switch).
The switches are now positioned as shown in Figure 68.
7.
On the battery box, switch OFF the battery circuit breaker. Immobilize the battery box circuit breaker
with tape and a sign to prevent the circuit breaker from being switched ON while the UPS is being
serviced.
The system is now in maintenance bypass mode.
