Printer Features
Error Messages
If any of the following errors occurs, it is displayed on the LCD panel. Clear the
error using the measures described in the following table.
MEM
Data has filled the buffer.
OVERFLOW
Unsupported cartridge inserted.
ILLEGAL CART
INSERT CART
Cartridge was removed while Feed
light was on or printer was on line.
Cartridge was inserted while Feed
REMOVE CART
light was on or printer was on line.
RAM ERROR
Unsupported or damaged SIMM was
inserted.
(Note)
EEPROM data error.
EEPROM
ERROR
SERVICE REQ.
Printer problem.
XXXXX
PAPER JAM
A paper jam has occurred.
A paper jam has occurred during the
FEED JAM
feed process.
PRINTER OPEN
Cover is open.
PC INSTALL
The optional lower cassette has
been selected, but is not connected.
Select manual feed.
MANUAL FEED
No paper is left in either the standard
PAPER OUT
or the optional cassette.
TONER OUT
Over 25 pages printed after
detection of toner low.
PAPER SET
Paper in the selected tray is different
from the paper size selection.
PRINT
Engine speed faster than print image
processing.
OVERRUN
If the printer displays RAM ERROR 1 or RAM ERROR 2:
Note :
RAM ERROR 1 indicates a problem with the SIMM inserted in SIMM socket CN8.
RAM ERROR 2 indicates a problem with the SIMM inserted in SIMM socket CN9.

Confirm and press the CONTINUE
button. Add optional SIMM.
Remove cartridge and press
CONTINUE.
Reinstall cartridge and press
CONTINUE button.
Remove cartridge and press
CONTINUE button.
Power off and then remove SIMM.
Press the CONTINUE button.
Service required.
Open cover and remove jammed
paper. Then close the cover.
Remove jammed paper. Then press
the CONTINUE button.
Close the cover.
Power off.
Insert paper and press ON LINE.
Load the paper into paper tray or
optional cassette.
Replace the imaging cartridge.
Load the proper paper and press
CONTINUE, or simply press
CONTINUE.
Press the CONTINUE button.
