SEPARATED PROTECTOR TYPE
Remove the muffler cover (page
Remove the 4 x 6 mm tapping screws (1), and exhaust
deflector (2), If equipped.
Remove the 5 x 8 mm tapping screws (3), R. muffler
protector (4), and L.muffler protector (5).
Remove the 5 x 8 mm tapping screws (6) and spark
arrester (7).
CLEANING
Be careful to avoid damaging the screen.
Clean the carbon deposits from the spark arrester
screen (1) with a soft wire brush (2).
Check the spark arrester screen for damage. If the
screen is damaged, replace the spark arrester.
Install the spark arrester in the reverse order of
removal.
