Alarms and OSx Station Synchronization

5-16
Alarms
When the database is locked during station synchronization, the operator
needs to be aware of the following points concerning alarms.
The alarm icon and the silence target appear on all OSx stations except
the primary and the station that is synchronizing.
For new alarms, the alarm sounds on all stations except the primary
and the station that is synchronizing.
While the database is locked, an operator can silence alarms at any
station except the primary and the station that is synchronizing.
Alarms that occurred before the database was locked can be
acknowledged from any station except the primary and the station that
is synchronizing.
An operator cannot acknowledge an alarm that occurs while the
database is locked until the system unlocks the database.
When the database is unlocked following OSx station synchronization, these
events occur:
The alarm icon and the silence target appear on the primary for new
alarms after the system unlocks the database.
The alarm sounds on the primary for new alarms after the system
unlocks the database.
If an alarm tag has multiple alarms (for example, a DI10 having
alarms 1--10), and some of the alarms are acknowledged while some are
unacknowledged, an OSx station synchronizing in the Operate state
will show all of the alarms for that tag as unacknowledged.
