NOTE: The upgrade from embedded controller or Software RAID controller to Hardware RAID controller is not supported.

Removing the integrated storage controller card

Prerequisites
1 Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
2 Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
3 Remove the cooling shroud.
NOTE: If applicable, close the expansion card latch on the cooling shroud to release the full length card.
4 If applicable, disconnect the power or data cables from expansion card (s).
5 If applicable, remove the expansion-card riser
6 Keep the Phillips #2 screwdriver ready.

Steps
1 Loosen the screws that secure the integrated storage controller cable to the integrated storage controller card connector on the
system board.
2 Lift the integrated storage controller cable out and move it away from the integrated storage controller card.
3 Lift one end of the card at an angle to disengage the card from the integrated storage controller card holder on system board.
4 Lift the card out of the chassis.
