CONTROL

Breaker Control

NOTE:
4–296
The 845 relay supports breaker control for up to three breakers. The Breaker Control menu
is designed to Trip and Close the Breaker either remotely (LOCAL MODE setpoint set to "Off",
or the selected LOCAL MODE input de-asserted), or locally (the selected LOCAL mode
setpoint asserted). While in Local mode, the LED "LOCAL MODE" is lit, and the Remote Open
and Remote Close setpoints are not active.
By default, Breaker control mode is set to Remote (LOCAL MODE set to Off). In this mode,
the Remote Open and Remote Close setpoints are active.
Local – the Breaker is controlled open/close from the relay pushbuttons (PBs).
Remote – the Breaker is controlled open/close from any assigned and asserted FlexLogic
operand, contact input, virtual input, virtual output, remote input, or via communication.
To close a breaker using Syncheck, create a Virtual Output in the FlexLogic that is equal to
a simple AND gate between the breaker closing signal and the Syncheck permission
operand. This Virtual Output can then be assigned in the Breaker Control element and used
for closing the desired breaker.
