The appliance also provides eight data and parity disk drives that vary in storage capacity. These disk drives are located in slots 4 through 11 in the appliance front panel. The system disk drives are circled in red. The storage disk drives are circled in yellow. The NetBackup 5230 does not require a Veritas Storage Shelf to provide storage. The standard appliance contains 1-TB storage disks which provide 4 TB of formatted storage capacity.
