AT THIS POINT
To remove/service the water pump, see section 4.
9. Remove the right crankcase cover (see Section 4
- Water Pump).
10. Remove the trigger coil mounting screws; then
remove the wire set plate.
11. Remove the three cap screws securing the stator
coil to the crankcase cover; then remove the sta-
tor coil and trigger coil.
! CAUTION
Use extreme care to avoid damaging or shorting the
wiring.
12. Remove the oil-through and spring from the end
of the crankshaft; then hold the rotor/flywheel
with an appropriate holding tool and remove the
flywheel nut and washer.
13. Install the flywheel puller and crankshaft protec-
tor; then remove the rotor/flywheel. Account for
a key and the starter one-way clutch bearing.

NOTE: The starter one-way clutch bearing is
direction oriented and will only function if installed
properly. Note the markings or arrows when
removed.

F. Oil Pump
NOTE: Steps 9-13 in the preceding sub-section
must precede this procedure.
14. Remove the rotor/flywheel (see Rotor/Flywheel
in this sub-section).
15. Remove the starter drive gear and place together
with the rotor/flywheel to keep the one-way
clutch bearing intact.
