4.2.5 DIMMs

Note!
The images below have been taken on another platform, not the SKY-8100.
The DIMM density and space constraints on the SKY-8100 do not allow for
images that give a detailed insight into the memory installation process. DIMM
count, color and keying on the images may be different from SKY-8100. Yet,
the same installation process applies.
Note!
You need:
- No special tools
- Power down the unit
As a preparation you need to remove the top cover, PCIe card cages and the stiffener
plate as described earlier.
To replace a DIMM module, basically extract the DIMM module by pushing the DIMM
socket latches outward. As the latches flip completely open, the DIMM module will be
automatically extracted from the socket. Pull the DIMM module out vertically. Refer to
Section 4.1.4.1.

4.2.6 FAN MODULE

You need:
- No special tools
- Power down the unit
To replace a FAN module, you need loosen the thumbscrews until they are fully
disengaged and pull out the fan module carefully. After inserting the new fan modules,
tighten the thumb screws and close the front cover.
