Installation / Wall mounting
Installation height:
To obtain the specified reach of 12 m, the sensor
should be installed at a height of approx. 2 m.
The mains supply lead is a 3-core cable.
L = live conductor (usually black or brown)
N = neutral conductor (usually blue)
PE = protective-earth conductor (green/yellow)
If you are in any doubt, identify the conductors using
a voltage tester; then switch off the power again.
Important: Connecting the conductors to the wrong
terminals will produce a short circuit in the unit or
your fuse box at a later stage when you come to
switch the power on. In this case, you must identify
the individual cables and re-connect them. A mains
Functions
,
Switch-off delay (time setting)
(factory setting: 10 sec.)
Light ON time can be adjusted continuously from
10 sec. to 15 min.
Control dial set fully clockwise =
shortest time (10 sec.).
Control dial set fully anti-clockwise =
longest time (15 min.).
When setting the detection zone, we recommend
selecting the shortest time.
Precision adjustment with shrouds
Shrouds may be used to define the detection zone
exactly as you require in order, for example, to mask
out neightbouring premises or specifically target paths.
Reach adjustment
Reach can be adjusted by tilting the sensor
(through 70°).
Operation / Maintenance
The sensor-switched halogen floodlight is suitable for
activating light automatically. The unit is not suitable
for burglar alarm systems as it does not provide the
level of sabotage protection that is prescribed for this
purpose. Weather conditions may affect the way the
sensor-switched halogen floodlight functions. Strong
switch for switching the unit ON and OFF may of
course be installed in the power supply lead.
Connecting an additional load
It is possible to connect an additional load to the
sensor-switched halogen floodlight.
When doing so, please observe the maximum
permissible power output (see Technical Specifi-
cations).
The live conductor must be connected to the terminal
marked L'. The neutral conductor of the additional
load must be connected to the terminal marked N
together with the neutral conductor of the mains
power lead. Connect the protective-earth conductor
to the earth terminal.
Important: Reversing the connections may result in
damage to the unit. You could also get an electric
shock.
Twilight setting (sensor response threshold)
(factory setting: daylight operation 2000 lux)
The sensor's response threshold can be infinitely
varied from 2 – 2000 lux.
Control dial set to
= daylight operation
approx. 2000 lux.
Control dial set to
= night-time operation
approx. 2 lux.
To adjust the detection zone in daylight, the control
dial must be set to
(daylight operation).
The shrouds can be divided or cut with a pair of scis-
sors along the vertical and horizontal grooves.
gusts of wind, snow, rail, hail may cause the light to
come ON when it is not wanted because the sensor
is unable to distinguish sudden changes in tempera-
ture from sources of heat. The detector lens may be
cleaned with a damp cloth if it gets dirty (do not use
cleaning agents).
