Warning!
If you see flames or smoke coming from the
engine compartment, do not open the hood.
Move away from vehicle and do not open the
hood until the drive system has cooled. If
necessary, call the fire department.

Warning!
You could be injured when the hood is open –
even when the drive system is turned off.
Parts of the drive system can become very
hot. To prevent burns, let the drive system
cool completely before touching any
components on the vehicle. Comply with all
relevant safety precautions.

Warning!
To help prevent personal injury, stay clear of
moving parts when the hood is open and the
drive system is in operation.
The radiator fan may continue to run for
approximately 30 seconds or may even
restart after the drive system has been turned
off. Stay clear of fan blades.

Warning!
Only specially trained technicians are
qualified to perform service work on your
vehicle. Therefore, you should have all service
work carried out only by an authorized F-CELL
Service Center.
Particular caution is urged concerning all
parts that are connected to the vehicle's high-
voltage system (500 V), such as components
in the engine compartment.
Therefore, take care of the following:
Do not open any housings.

Do not disconnect any plugs.
R
Orange-colored cables carry high voltages
R
of up to 500 V (high-voltage cables) and
must not be damaged.

Never touch damaged orange-colored high

voltage cables (voltages of up to 500 V).
Have any damaged high-voltage cables

replaced immediately at an authorized
F-CELL Service Center.
For your safety, we strongly recommend that
you visit an authorized F-CELL Service Center.
Have any work on safety systems or work
related to safety systems carried out by
qualified technicians only.

Pull hood lock release lever :.
The hood is unlocked.
! Never open the hood if the wiper arms are
folded forward away from the windshield.
Otherwise the windshield wipers or the
hood could be damaged.
! To avoid damage to the handle never pull
up the hood on the handle.
X
Pull handle ; to its stop out of radiator
grille.
X
Pull up on hood.
