Default Configuration

Although a version of Dell Networking OS is pre-loaded onto the system, the system is not configured when you power up the
system first time (except for the default hostname, which is Dell). You must configure the system using the CLI.

Configuring a Host Name

The host name appears in the prompt. The default host name is Dell.
Host names must start with a letter and end with a letter or digit.
Characters within the string can be letters, digits, and hyphens.
To create a host name, use the following command.

Accessing the System Remotely

You can configure the system to access it remotely by Telnet or secure shell (SSH).
The platform has a dedicated management port and a management routing table that is separate from the IP routing table.
You can manage all Dell Networking products in-band via the front-end data ports through interfaces assigned an IP
address as well.
Accessing the System Remotely
