Running a Transport Cleaning Sheet

Operator's Guide
The scanner cover must be closed and powered on
NOTE:
to run a transport cleaning sheet.
1.
Remove the wrapping from the Transport Cleaning
Sheet.
2.
Adjust the side guides to fit the cleaning sheet.
3.
Place a transport cleaning sheet in the input tray
(adhesive side up) in portrait orientation.
4.
Using your scanning application, scan the transport
cleaning sheet.
5.
After the transport cleaning sheet is scanned, turn it
over (adhesive side facing the input tray) and scan it
again.
6.
Open the scanner cover and wipe the imaging area
with a lint-free cloth.
7.
Close the scanner with both hands, and check the
image quality.
8.
Repeat this procedure, if necessary until all residue is
removed from the drive rollers. If you are unable to
remove all residue from the drive rollers using the
transport cleaning sheet, perform the procedure
described in "Cleaning the Rollers and Transport" on
page 110.
9.
When a transport cleaning sheet gets very dirty,
discard it and use a new one.
10.
When you are done running transport cleaning sheets,
open the scanner and check that the imaging guides
are clean. If necessary, clean the imaging guides as
described in "Cleaning the Imaging Guides" on
page 116.
