If you configure an interface, only the interface sends LLDPDUs with the specified TLVs.
If you configure LLDP both globally and at interface level, the interface level configuration overrides
the global configuration.
To advertise TLVs, use the following commands.
1.
Enter LLDP mode.
CONFIGURATION or INTERFACE mode
protocol lldp
2.
Advertise one or more TLVs.
PROTOCOL LLDP mode
advertise {dcbx-appln-tlv | dcbx-tlv | dot3-tlv | interface-port-desc |
management-tlv | med }
Include the keyword for each TLV you want to advertise.
For management TLVs: system-capabilities, system-description.
For 802.1 TLVs: port-protocol-vlan-id, port-vlan-id vlan-name.
For 802.3 TLVs: max-frame-size.
For TIA-1057 TLVs:
– guest-voice
– guest-voice-signaling
– location-identification
– power-via-mdi
– softphone-voice
– streaming-video
– video-conferencing
– video-signaling
– voice
– voice-signaling
In the following example, LLDP is enabled globally. R1 and R2 are transmitting periodic LLDPDUs that
contain management, 802.1, and 802.3 TLVs.
