Overtemperature monitoring functions
SITOP PSU8600 basic devices and SITOP CNX8600 expansion modules have integrated
overtemperature monitoring functions. The outputs are shut down if the internal temperature
is inadmissibly high.
Take the following steps after a shutdown as a result of an inadmissibly high internal
temperature:
1. Check the mounting clearances of the devices, see Standard mounting position
(Page 97) and Other mounting positions (Page 99).
Excessively low mounting clearances cause overheating.
2. Measure whether the ambient temperature is permissible, see Environmental conditions
(Page 245).
Identifying a shutdown due to an inadmissible temperature
Basic device
If an inadmissibly high temperature is detected inside the basic device, all of the outputs of
the basic device and the expansion modules being used are switched off.
A shutdown as a result of an inadmissibly high temperature inside the basic device is
signaled by:
● Red LED "OK"
● LEDs "ON/OFF/RST"
● The signaling contact at the basic device
Outputs
If an inadmissibly high temperature is detected at an output, then the outputs are shut down
in pairs (1 and 2 or 3 and 4). The remaining outputs remain switched on.
A shutdown as a result of an inadmissibly high temperature at an output is signaled by:
● Green LED "OK"
● Red LEDs "ON/OFF/RST"
expansion module
● The signaling contact at the basic device
