Replacing individual components

It is only permissible to replace individual components when they are in the no-voltage state.
Risk of electric shock
Before starting removal work of any kind, the main switch of the system must be opened
and measures taken to prevent it from being reclosed. If this instruction is not observed,
touching live parts can result in death or serious injury.
NOTICE
Risk of damage by breaking off the connecting plug
The components can only be safely and reliably removed when the connecting plugs have
been released. Release the connecting plugs, before removing or replacing the basic
device and supplementary modules.
NOTICE
Risk of damage as result of jamming when withdrawing
Withdrawing individual components without taking the appropriate care can damage
adjacent components. Withdraw components carefully, without applying excessive force.

Removing installed components
1. Switch the basic device into a no-voltage condition.
Note
For a hardware configuration with one or several buffer modules, after bringing the basic
device into a no-voltage condition, the first step is to dissipate the energy saved in the
buffer components. This can take several minutes under no load conditions (all of the
outputs are shutdown).
2. Wait until all of the LEDs of the system have gone dark.
3. Release the connections at the plug-terminals of the component to be replaced.
If the basic device is replaced: When necessary, also release the PROFINET connection.
