GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
●
To avoid shock or equipment damage, do not plug in or turn the system power on before completing
the installation process.
●
Avoid working with the equipment during electrical storms.
●
Use only commercial AC power to prevent shock or fire.
●
Use the power cord supplied for the KSU.
●
Do not bundle AC power cords together to prevent the cords from overheating.
●
Make sure the KSU has a proper earth ground.
●
Install batteries with the correct polarity to prevent damaging equipment.
●
The KSU should not be placed on unstable surfaces to avoid damage.
●
Although it is recommended to installed the PCBs with the system power off, all PCBs can be installed
hot (except the CCPU, EXIFU, MEMDB, VOIPDB, and VMDB).
●
As some USB thumb drives may cause the system to reset, it is recommended to power down the
system prior to connecting a USB thumb drive to the CCPU.

Unpacking
Unpack the equipment and check it against your equipment lists. The KSU does not initially contain any PCBs.
Inspect for physical damage. If you are not sure about a component's function, review the information for the
component within this manual. Contact your Sales Representative if you have additional questions.
Make sure you have appropriate tools for the job, including: a test set, a punch down tool, and a digital
voltmeter.
