8. Check:
• Bushing
Damage/wear → Replace the starter motor
rear cover.

ASSEMBLING THE STARTER MOTOR

1. Install:
• Brush set "1"
TIP
Align the tab "a" on the brush set with the slot "b"
in the starter motor yoke.
2. Install:
• Starter motor yoke "1"
• Starter motor front cover "2"
• Starter motor rear cover "3"
Starter motor cover bolt
4.9 Nm (0.49 m·kgf, 3.5 ft·lbf)
TIP
Align the match marks "a" on the starter motor
yoke with the match marks "b" on the starter mo-
tor front and rear covers.
