MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES

This section includes instructions for
basic maintenance procedures. If you
have the necessary mechanical skills
and the required tools, you can per-
form these procedures. If not, see
your authorized Can-Am dealer.
Other important items in the mainte-
nance schedule that are more difficult
and require special tools are best per-
formed by your authorized Can-Am
dealer.
WARNING
Turn off the engine and follow
these maintenance procedures
when performing maintenance.
If you do not follow proper main-
tenance procedures you can be
injured by hot parts, moving parts,
electricity, chemicals or other haz-
ards.
WARNING
Should removal of a locking de-
vice (e.g. lock tabs, self-locking
fasteners, etc.) be required when
undergoing disassembly/assem-
bly, always replace with a new one.

Engine Oil

Engine Oil Level
The engine oil tank is located in front of
engine.
NOTICE
Check level frequently
and refill if necessary. Do not over-
fill. Operating the engine with an
improper level may severely dam-
age engine/transmission. Wipe off
any spillage.
NOTE: While checking the oil level, vi-
sually inspect oil tank and engine area
for leaks.

LH SIDE OF VEHICLE
1. Oil tank dipstick
With vehicle on a level surface, start
engine and let it running at idle, around
1 minute, then stop engine. Check oil
level as follows:
1. Unscrew dipstick and wipe clean.
2. Screw dipstick until it bottoms.
3. Remove dipstick and check oil
level. It should be near or equal
to the upper mark.

To add oil, remove the dipstick. Place a
funnel into the oil tank fill hole to avoid
spillage.
Add a small amount of oil and recheck
oil level.
Repeat the operation until oil level
reaches the dipstick's upper mark. Do
not overfill.
Properly tighten dipstick.
