5-2-2 Variable Speed Playback in Jog, Shuttle, and Variable Modes
Playback in jog mode
In jog, shuttle, and variable modes, you can vary the playback speed as
follows.
Jog mode:
from -4 to +4 times normal playback speed, according to the
rate of rotation of the search dial
• When an external device is selected, the range of playback
speed is determined by the setting of the external device.
Shuttle mode:
from -500 to +500 times normal playback speed, according
to the angular position of the search dial
• The range of playback speeds depends on the MAV-777
control panel settings.
Variable mode: from -1 to +1 times normal playback speed, according to the
angular position of the search dial
• When the external device is selected, the range of the
playback speed is determined by the setting of the external
device.
The playback speed appears in the current port area.
Use the following procedure for playback in jog mode.

Press the JOG button to turn it on.
Each time you push the search dial, it toggles between jog and shuttle (or
variable) modes. According to the currently selected mode, the JOG,
SHUTTLE, or VAR button lights.

Turn the search dial at the desired rate and the desired direction.
A slow-motion playback image appears, at the speed corresponding to the
rotation rate of the search dial.
