To set edit points for split editing
With split editing, you can set edit points separately for audio and video.
Audio edit points can be set with the AUDIO IN and AUDIO OUT buttons,
while video edit points can be set with the IN and OUT buttons.

Press the desired channel key (Video and/or Audio).
The IN and OUT buttons flash.

Press the RECORDER or PLAYER button to select the device for which
you want to set edit points.
The button pressed lights.

Turn the search dial in either jog or shuttle mode to search for the edit
point.
For playback in jog and shuttle modes, see Section 5-2-2, "Variable Speed
Playback in Jog, Shuttle, and Variable Modes" (page 5-3).

Hold down the ENTRY button and press the IN, OUT, AUDIO IN, or
AUDIO OUT button to set the edit point.
When the edit point is set, the button pressed lights.

Repeat steps 2 to 4, setting all the necessary edit points.
When the edit points are set, the lamp that was flashing lights.
Note
If no audio edit point is input, only the video edit point is displayed even if
Audio is selected as the edit channel.
