About This Operation Manual
The operation manual of the MAV-777 is divided into two manuals as outlined
below.
Volume I: Settings, Basic Operations by Modes
Volume I describes the various functions of the MAV-777, the procedures to
connect external control devices, and menu settings. Refer to this manual when
you want to build an editing system or modify an existing editing system.
Volume II: Editing Operations from the Control Panel (This
manual)
Volume II describes how to use the MAV-777 control panel. Refer to this
manual when you want to record, playback, or edit with the control panel.
Also refer to it when you want to edit using effects such as wipe and dissolve,
perform DMC editing, A/V split editing, and so forth.
The upper panel of the MAV-777 is referred to as the "meter panel" to
differentiate it from the control panel.
Organization of this manual
To provide an overview of the organization of this manual, the contents of
Chapter 1 and following chapters and appendix are listed below. The title page
of each chapter also includes a summary.
Chapter 1 Overview
This gives an overview of the features of the control panel.
Chapter 2 Names and Functions of Parts
This lists the parts of the control panel by function, with overviews of their
operation.
Chapter 3 Operating Modes
This describes the three operating modes (Material mode, Edit mode, CP Setup
mode, Timer Rec/Play mode, and Dual Play mode) of the control panel, and
describes the features of the display information on the liquid crystal display
(LCD), and basic operating procedures.
Chapter 4 Recording
This describes the preparations, time data settings, and basic procedure to
record with the MAV-777 using the control panel.
Chapter 5 Playback
This describes the preparations and different playback modes to play back
materials with the MAV-777 using the control panel.
Chapter 6 Editing
This describes control panel editing functions that use the MAV-777 built-in
hard disk.
