1 PORT SELECT buttons
P1, P2, R1, and R2/P3 buttons:
These are used to select the internal port of the MAV-
777 to which operation on the control panel apply.
The button for the selected port lights (port P1 in the
following figure).

• When the MAV-777 is used in standard configuration
(1 input/1 output), only P1 and R1 can be used.
• When the MAV-777 is used in the 2 input/2 output
configuration (BKMA-720 and BKMA-730 option
boards required), P1 and P2 are playback ports, while
R1 and R2/P3 are recording ports.
Note
These buttons can be used regardless of the MAV-777
port REMOTE settings.
EXT1, EXT2 buttons:
These buttons are used to select the device connected to
the remote connectors (IN/OUT1 (VTR), IN/OUT2
(VTR)) of the connector panel of the MAV-777. Buttons
EXT1 and EXT2 correspond to the device connected to
IN/OUT1 (VTR) and IN/OUT2 (VTR). When you press
a button, it lights to indicate that the corresponding port
is selected. When you select EXT1, port R1 is displayed
on the monitor. When you select EXT2, port R2 is
displayed on the monitor.

However, even when a device is connected to the remote
connector of the MAV-777 connector panel, if the
device is set to LOCAL, it cannot be selected.
The configuration and operation modes that can be
selected with the EXT1 and EXT2 buttons are shown in
the table below.

Notes
• EXT1 and EXT2 cannot be selected as the recorder.
• When you are using a 1 input/3 output or 3 input/1
output configuration, if item 317 PANEL MODE
RECORDER PORT on the Expansion menu of the
MAV-777 is not set to R1P1, EXT1 cannot be selected
as the player.
