Configuration of E-mail Encryption/Digital Signature

Installation Overview

The following is the procedure for E-mail Encryption/Digital Signature.
Before configuring a certificate, configure the settings to encrypt HTTP
Communication.

Configuration on the Machine

To configure certificates by CentreWare Internet Services, first encrypt HTTP
communication, import a created certificate to the machine, and then enable S/MIME.
For information on the settings for encrypting HTTP communication, refer to "Configuration of HTTP
Communication Encryption" (P.131)

Start a web browser.

Enter the machine's IP address or the Internet address beginning with "https" to the
address entry column on the browser, and press the <Enter> key.

Click the [Properties] tab.

Confirm that [Machine E-mail Address] of [Machine Details] is filled.

Click [+] on the left of [Security] to display the items in the folder.

Click [Certificate Management].

Import a certificate.
Important • When importing a certificate, if the same certificate has been already registered in [Local

Configuration on the Machine
Configure a certificate to the machine. No certificate is imported on the machine in
the default settings. Import certificates for a S/MIME as needed.
Configuration on a Computer
Prepare a certificate that is suitable for E-mail Encryption/Digital Signature.
Example of the IP address entry

Example of the Internet address entry

• When specifying a port number, add ":" and a port number to the end of the Internet
