COMPONENTS OF THE FUEL INJECTION-IGNITION
The fuel injection-ignition mainly comprises wiring, an electronic control unit and the following sensors
and actuators:
Sensors
Actuators
Rpm and TDC sensor
Knock sensor
Throttle position sensor
Coolant temperature sensor
Intake air pressure and temperature sensor
- Engine idle speed actuator
- Electric fuel pump
- Fuel vapour cut-off solenoid
- Fuel injectors

- Lambda probe
FUEL INJECTION-IGNITION WIRING
The various components of the system are connected by a single wiring loom with various types of con­
nectors, laid in special runs mounted on the engine (prewiring).
FUEL INJECTION-IGNITION ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT
The electronic control unit of the fuel injection-ignition used on this version is specific and connected to
the electrical wiring by means of two connectors, the top connector with 52 pins and the bottom con­
nector with 28 pins. _ _
It is a digital microprocessor unit characterized by a high calculation capacity, precision, reliability, ver­
satility, low energy consumption and absence of maintenance.
The task of the electronic control unit is to process the signals coming from the various sensors by ap­
plying software algorithms, and to control the actuators (in particular the fuel injectors, ignition coils
and idle speed actuator) in order to achieve the best possible engine operation.
The structure of the electronic control unit is characterized by the following parts:
- Data acquisition and coding section
- Microprocessor
- ROM memory
- RAM memory
- EEPROM memory
- Drivers
a. Data acquisition and coding section
It consists of a set of electronic components (A/D converters) assigned to receiving the data in the form
of analogue electrical signals. The signals are then converted into digital signals, processed and stored.
