Replacing timing belt

Apply a force at the point indicated on the
automatic tensioner and move the ten-
sioner mobile pointer to the position of
greatest tension. Then lock the belt ten­
sioner retaining nut.
Fasten the injection pump pulley by tight­
ening the retaining bolts to the specified
tightening torque and remove pin
1860965000 from its housing.
Turn the crankshaft through two turns in
its normal direction of rotation, release the
belt tensioner retaining nut and align fixed
indicator (1) on the tensioner mount with
the belt tensioner mobile indicator. Secure
the tensioner nut and then tighten to the
specified torque. Refit parts removed pre­
viously by carrying removal operations in
reverse order.
