BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH
There is a switch (1) on the brake pedal
which operates the brake lights; the same
switch sends a signal to pin 2-8 of the in­
jection control unit.
The "brake pedal pressed" signal is used
by the control unit:
- for understanding that there is a decel­
eration situation;
- for checking the plausibility of the sig­
nal coming from the accelerator poten­
tiometer.
CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH
There is a switch (2) on the clutch pedal connected to pin 2-2 of the injection control unit.
The "clutch pedal operated" signal is used by the injection control unit to distinguish the gear engaged
and gear shift conditions.
EXCESS PRESSURE SENSOR
This sensor is fitted on the inlet manifold and
the signal transmitted to the injection control
unit is used for:
- regulating the injection pressure;
- regulating the duration of the injection.
The diagram at the side shows the sensor and
the electrical connector with the pin-out:
1. Pressure signal
2. Earth
3. Supply
ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE SENSOR
The atmospheric pressure sensor is incorporated inside the injection electronic control unit and has the
task of measuring the atmospheric pressure in order to correct the air flow rate value measured and the
reference air flow rate for controlling the EGR function.
