Setting the weight

5.1.3.1 Weighing mail pieces (optional)

Using the ultimail with scale lets you quickly and reliably determine the weight for
each separate mailpiece and accordingly set the postage.
You can perform weighing in the home menu but also in the product selection
menu.
Caution! Please observe the following notes on how to use the integrated
scale:
– The scale is designed for a maximum weight of 5 kg.
– The ultimail can determine a new weight only if the scale has been emptied
beforehand. You must therefore empty the scale pan before you place a
new mailpiece to be weighed.
• Place the mailpiece on the scale pan.
The ultimail determines the weight.
A beep indicates that a new weight has
been set (see Chapter 13.6 on page 88)
when the acoustic signal of the ultimail
was set to ON.
The ultimail sets the appropriate postage
value for metering using the selected
dispatch data and the displayed weight.
• To meter, press the
change to the home menu.
