Software Access Point
another access point than the first nearby access point. In this case, the station
automatically changes the access point and continues communication. This function is
called roaming. (When TCP/IP protocol is being used, roaming over the router is not
supported.)
By providing access points efficiently and using roaming, each station can be connected
to the network from anywhere any time.
For this configuration, note the following setting items:
Network name (ESSID)
Channel number
Infrastructure mode
Setting item
A same name must be specified at both the access
points and stations.
To enable roaming, the same network name must
be used between the access points.
This setting is required at access points only.
If access points are installed too closely, radio
interference may occur. If so, assign different
channels to them.
Roaming is enabled even between different
channels.
Infrastructure mode must be enabled. This setting is
required only at each station.
