1. General information

The Lexmark™ X651, X652, X654, X656 and X658 are All-In-One laser MFPs that provide print, copy, scan, and
fax functions designed to attach to most computer networks. The operator panel is touch-sensitive and allows
the user to adjust the viewing angle. All information in this service manual pertains to all models unless explicitly
noted.

Maintenance approach

The diagnostic information in this manual leads you to the correct field replaceable unit (FRU) or part. Use the
service error codes, user status messages, user error messages, service checks, and diagnostic aids to
determine the MPF problem and repair the failure. After you complete the repair, perform tests as needed to
