    1 Introduction Introduction SafeCom Go Lexmark SafeCom Go Lexmark is the internal solution for Lexmark MFPs. It integrates with the touchscreen control panel of the Lexmark MFP and offers user authentication by code and/or card. SafeCom Go Lexmark works together the SafeCom G3 Server software and is designed to help companies and organizations gain control over their printing costs and document security.

    Click Add to register the device in the SafeCom solution. Right-click the device and click Update software… Click Send to send the SafeCom Go Lexmark software file (*.fls) to the device. You may need to download the file first (see 2.5.1).

    Open the Register web page (2.4.4) and register the device with the SafeCom solution. Resend configuration If your Lexmark device is not configured correctly, or if the device must be reconfigured to a different server, then resend the configuration details (Server address and Group name) to the device.
  • Page 12 2 SafeCom Go Lexmark In the Import Security Setups File dialog browse to one of the security template files provided. Click Submit. Importing the SafeComGoRoleBased.ucf file enables users’ access to functions according to the user access rights setup on the server.

    2 SafeCom Go Lexmark 2.3.2 Apply access control on device functions When the SafeCom solution controls access to device functions you need to apply a Security Template to each of these functions. Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the printer in the address field.

    Connect the SafeCom ID Device directly to the external USB. The USB port is located at the rear of the device next to the network port. If the SafeCom ID Device is connected before SafeCom Go Lexmark software is installed, the display may show the message: Unsupported USB device. Please remove.

    2 SafeCom Go Lexmark SafeCom Go Lexmark Web Interface The SafeCom Go Lexmark web interface adheres to the structure and design of the Lexmark Embedded Web Server. 2.4.1 Login to the SafeCom Go Lexmark Web Interface Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the printer in the address field.

  • Page 17 2 SafeCom Go Lexmark In SafeCom Server you specify the SafeCom server, either manually or through sending a broadcast. Enter the Group name, SafeCom server TCP port (default is 7500) and the SafeCom server IP address in Add server .Or click Broadcast to get a list of servers to select from (see 2.5.2.)
  • Page 18 2 SafeCom Go Lexmark Print all at login: All user documents are printed as soon as the user logs in to Pull Print. This setting applies to the printer. If selected this setting overrules the equivalent user property on the SafeCom G3 server.

Restart the device for changes to take effect. Restore factory default: Returns all settings, except the password, to their default values (2.5.13).

    2 SafeCom Go Lexmark 2.4.4 Register web page Use the Register web page to register the device with the SafeCom server. The device can be used with SafeCom once it has been registered with the SafeCom server. Enter the User logon and PIN code of a user with Technician or Administrator rights.

    2 SafeCom Go Lexmark 2.4.5 Log web page Use the Log web page to enable, disable and view log information. Only generate log information only if SafeCom Support instructs you to do so for troubleshooting purposes. Click Enable to start logging.

Click Broadcast. After 5 seconds the SafeCom server IP address list is populated with the results of the broadcast.

If all users belong to the same domain you can configure the device so they don’t need to enter their domain at the device.

    3 Using SafeCom Go Lexmark Pull Print - Document list Tap the Pull Print icon to see the Document list where you can print individual documents. Documents appear in chronological order with the newest at the top of the list. If Print all at login is checked, any documents pending collection will be printed first.

    4 Troubleshooting At the printer: User unknown The used card (or entered user code) is unknown. At the printer: Login denied  Wrong PIN code.  The device is not registered.  Too many consecutive failed login attempts has caused Prevent login to be checked on the Identification tab in the User properties dialog.
