Super I/O

The Super I/O provides functions that comply with ACPI (Advanced Confi guration
and Power Interface), which includes support of legacy and ACPI power
management through an SMI or SCI function pin. It also features auto power
management to reduce power consumption.

Server Chassis Features

The following is a general outline of the main features of the SCF418IL server
chassis. The SCF418IL chassis is available in a variety of confi gurations. For more

System Power

Each SCF418IL chassis model includes a high-effi ciency 94%+ Plus Platinum Level
power supply, rated at 1620 Watts. In the unlikely event your power supply fails,
replacement is simple and can be accomplished without tools.

SAS/SATA Subsystem

The SCF418IL supports up to two (2) 2.5" hot-swap SAS/SATA drives in front
mounted trays for each node for a total of sixteen (16) drives. These drives are hot-
swappable units and are connected to a backplane that provides power and control.
Note: The operating system you use must have RAID support to enable the hot-
swap capability of the drives.

Front Control Panel

SCF418IL-R1K62B chassis includes front I/O with a power button LED and a UID
indicator, with additional LED indicators directly on the motherboard which provides
you with system monitoring and control for one server node.

I/O Ports

The SCF418IL is an proprietary form factor chassis designed to be used in a 4U
rackmount confi guration. The SCF418IL chassis provides a low-profi le add-on
card slot, a VGA port, two USB 2.0 ports, one IPMI Ethernet port and two gigabit
Ethernet ports per node.
