6-12 Installing Air Shrouds
Air Shrouds
Air shrouds concentrate airfl ow to maximize fan effi ciency. The SCF418IL and
SCF418ILL chassis require an air shroud in each node.
Installing an Air Shroud
1. Power down the system and remove the power cords from the rear of the
power supplies as described in Section 6-3. Remove the node from the
chassis as described in Section 6-5 and remove the cover from the node as
described in Section 6-6.
2. Make sure that the motherboard and all components are properly installed in
each node.
3. Place the air shroud over the motherboard, as illustrated below. The air
shroud sits behind the system fans and goes over the top of the motherboard
and its components.
4. Repeat the procedure for the remaining three nodes.
