Media-based problems
1.
Check that the correct type of media is being used. For plain-paper
printing, the customer should be using a quality plain paper (like that
used in a laser printer). The printer may have trouble picking
slick-finish paper. Also, the ink may not adhere well to slick-finish
paper.
2.
Inspect the paper for bent, torn or folded corners.
3.
Ensure that the correct media is loaded in the paper tray.
1.
To remove a jammed piece of paper, pull the paper gently and
squarely. Use both hands, if possible.
2.
Don't force the paper, it may tear. If the paper won't come out in one
direction, try pulling on the other end of the paper.
3.
After removing jammed paper, inspect it for tears to ensure no paper
scraps are left in the printer.
4.
After clearing a mispick jam, ensure the paper tray is properly loaded.
For a jam held between the paper feed rollers. Remove the paper tray. Press
down on ribbed areas on either end of the upper roller guide to release the
roller's spring pressure, then pull the paper out by holding either the leading or
trailing edge and pulling the paper.
