Phaser 300i and 300RX Color Printer
Paper input (pick jam): Show how you remove the tray to clear a
paper-pick jam.
Show where this is explained in the customer manual.
Point out the paper empty flag (inside the paper feeder).
Point out the pick rollers.
Point out how to release the paper from the feed rollers
Drum (print jam): Show the customer how to open the top and rear covers to
access and clear a printing jam.
Show where this is explained in the customer manual.
Exit (exit jams): Show the customer how to open the top cover to remove the
paper tray to access and clear an exit jam.
Show where this is explained in the customer manual.
Explain the importance of keeping the printer clean. Emphasize how dirt and
dust can affect print quality and paper-pick reliability.
Explain the contents and use of the cleaning kit.
Show how to clean the paper-pick rollers and the paper-feed rollers.
Emphasize that these parts should be cleaned often if plain paper is
used.
Show how to enter Utility mode to use its cleaning routines.
Show how to clean the drum and the exit rollers. These parts should
be cleaned every 2000 prints.
Show where this is explained in the customer manual.
Cleaning kit
There are two cleaning kits for the Phaser 300 printer: an alcohol-free kit shipped
with the printer, and a replacement kit which supplies swabs and wipes along
with a replacement fuser wiper and a special fuser cleaning wiper.
The customer will need to purchase isopropyl alcohol (95%) at their local
pharmacy in order to use the cleaning kit supplied with the printer.
