25 TUNE AND TEST PROCEDURE
Changing Pet A and PET D are used for increasing and Decreasing O2 purity as called out in this procedure.
PID Setpoint is used to change the flow tolerances up or down to achieve flows within specifications.
Speed (RPM) is viewed to ensure the compressor operates at required settings.
View Speed, Motor RPM and Patient Outlet Pressure at bottom of procedure.
1.
Verify the O2/Flowmeter Test Station is on and ready for testing. (Note: if O2/Flowmeter Station has been powered off, allow 15 minutes for
unit to warm up before taking any readings.)
2.
Verify the Pulse and Sensitivity Test has been performed and passed. A shortened version can be performed prior to tuning but prior to pack a
complete Pulse and Sensitivity Test must be performed.
3.
Verify the O2/Flowmeter Test Station Computer is on and Start the "Concentrator Test Program Version 09.9.28a" program and click the "Start
Acquisition" button.
4.
Start the "TPOC GUI" program. Verify GUI version is 09.10.28 a.
5.
Attach the GUI Cable Battery Housing from the test station to each of the back of the unit.
6.
Attach AC/DC Adapter to the unit jack.
7.
Connect the Test Station O2 supply tubing to the unit patient outlet barb fitting.
8.
Turn unit on by pressing the top left button. Verify the unit powers up, the display is functioning and the exhaust is not blocked. Let the unit run
for 5 minutes at 3 LPM Continuous.
9.
Verify GUI is functioning by clicking CLEAR SNAP STATISTICS in the upper right hand corner values in fields above button should zero then
begin populating with values a couple seconds later. Check the flowrate on the Concentrator Test program. Click the Press to Reset button and
wait about 30 seconds, The average must be between 3.0 +/-.3 LPM (2.7-3.3 LPM). If it is in this range, no changes are required. If it is out of
this range the PID Set Point must be changed. Note: The unit Flowrate will dramatically drop for about 1-1/2 minutes during unit test after the
first 5 minutes and then every 15 minutes. This is normal and do not make any changes during this time.
10. Adjust the PID Set Point by adding or subtracting from the starting value. If the average is higher than 3.3 LPM subtract .1 if the flow adjustment
needed is greater than .1 LPM or .05 if adjustment is less than .1 LPM. If the average is lower than 2.7 LPM add .1 if the flow adjustment needed
is greater than .1 LPM or .05 if less than .1 LPM. Hit the ENTER key and verify the AUTO REFRESH BUTTON changes from red to green, click
the button if it does not turn green after 5 seconds. Wait for 2 minutes and check the average again. Continue adjusting the PID Set Point until
the average flowrate is in the specified range.
11. Check the O2 %. Click the Press to Reset button and wait about 30 seconds. If the average is greater than 90.0 % and is stable within 1% O2, no
changes are required. Verify the O2 stays above 90% for 10 minutes.
