Printer Operation Problems (continued)
Symptom
Printer slows down.

Possible Causes
Printer has aborted and reset the
print speed and number of
image bands.
The printhead is up.
Sensor type set incorrectly.
You have incorrectly loaded the
media.
The self-strip roller is dirty or
the pinch roller is not contacting
the strip roller.
You have incorrectly loaded the
media.
Media fault.
You have configured the printer
for self-strip media.
Troubleshooting
Solution
Change the image bands or print speed
settings. Use PrintSet or Chapters 6, "IPL
Commands," to change the settings. For
help on optimizing both settings, see
"Maximizing Throughput" in Chapter 7.
Make sure the printhead is down. The
head lift lever should be straight up and
down. Press the Feed/Pause button to
resume printing.
Configure the printer for the correct
sensor. Use PrintSet or Chapter 6, "IPL
Commands," to change the settings.
Try reloading media. For help, see
"Loading Roll Media for Straight-Through
Printing" in Chapter 2.
Clean the self-strip roller. For help, see
"Cleaning the Rollers and the Tear Bar" in
Chapter 3.
Try reloading the media. For help, see
"Loading Roll Media for Straight-Through
Printing" in Chapter 2.
Remove media from under the label taken
sensor.
Set the printer to the default configuration
using the DIP switches. For help, see
"Plugging in the Printer" in Chapter 1.
