5. Remove the pressure plate (B, Figure 10).
6. Remove the washer (Figure 11) and the release
bearing (Figure 12) from pushrod No. 1.
7. Remove pushrod No. 1 (Figure 13) from the
mainshaft, then remove pushrod No. 2 (Figure 14).
8. Note that each friction disc is installed so the tab
with the two semi-circular cutouts fits into the
clutch basket slot with the two marks. See Figure
15. The marked tab on each friction disc must be in-
stalled in this marked slot during assembly.
9. Remove all of the friction discs and clutch plates.
Stack the disc and plates in the order of removal.
10. Straighten the ears (A, Figure 16) of the
lockwasher away from the flats on the clutch nut (B).
CAUTION
Do not clamp the special tool too
tightly. The tool could damage the
grooves in the clutch hub.
11A. Hold the clutch boss with a clutch holding
tool (Figure 17) and loosen the clutch nut.
CAUTION
Any soft metal washer, such as cop
per, brass, or aluminum, will work in
