GEARSHIFT SYSTEM

GEARSHIFT SHAFT DISASSEMBLY
• Remove the following parts from the gearshift shaft.
1 Snap ring
2 Gearshift shaft return spring
3 Gearshift cam drive plate
GEARSHIFT SHAFT INSPECTION
• Inspect the gearshift shaft for wear or bend.
• Inspect the return springs for damage or fatigue.
• Replace the gearshift shaft or springs if there is anything
unusual.
GEARSHIFT SHAFT REASSEMBLY
Reassembly the gearshift shaft in the reverse order of disas-
sembly. Play attention to the following points:
• Install the new snap rings 1.
 09900-06107: Snap ring pliers (Open type)
NOTE:
When installing the gearshift shaft return spring, position the
stopper A of gearshift arm between the shaft return spring ends
B.
