Front Passenger Airbag and Knee
Bolster (LS model)
The SRS in the Legend LS also in-
cludes a front passenger airbag and
knee bolster. This airbag is mounted
in the dashboard above the glovebox.
The knee bolster is below the dash-
board.
This airbag deploys if the car is
involved in a frontal collision at road
speeds. It cushions the passenger's
face and chest, then deflates almost
instanteously so it does not block the
driver's vision.

Supplemental Restraint System (LS model)

For maximum protection, your
passenger should always wear the
seat belt, sit well back in the seat,
and sit as upright as possible. A
passenger who is leaning forward,
sitting sideways, or out of position in
any other way is at greater risk of
injury from the crash and can also
suffer injuries from the airbag.
When using a child restraint system,
always secure it in the center of the
rear seat. The risk of injury to your
child in a crash is much less with the
restraint properly secured in this
position.
Since the purpose of the passenger's
airbag is to cushion a full-sized adult
in a crash, it inflates with consider-
able energy. A child restraint secur-
ed in the front passenger's seat,
especially a rear-facing infant carrier,
can be forced out of position by the
deploying airbag. This greatly
increases the risk of injury to your
child.
