Configuring Network Settings
5.
This chapter includes the following sections:
Configuring General Settings
Time Management
Configuring IP and VLAN Settings
Managing the DHCP Server
Managing Certificates
Configuring Syslog and Alarm Notification Settings
Basic configuration is required before using the wireless controller to configure access
points.
Put the correct country code in the Country/Region field in the General Settings screen.
This affects the system settings, and is even more critical if multiple access point
controllers are stacked. It also affects some wireless default settings such as channels.
Make sure that the back end switch is configured for your VLAN.
Set up the wireless controller IP address (the default is 192.168.0.250) in the General
Settings screen.
Fill in the Name field on the General Settings screen.
Configure security (see
Chapter 8). If this is not set up, or is incorrect, when the wireless controller configures the
access points, you could accidentally wipe out all security, leaving your entire network
open to access.
Configure the management VLAN and the untagged VLAN.
