Trouble
Copies come out too
dark.
Drawer cannot be
closed.
Copies are dirty.
Black lines appear on
the copy.
Copy image is askew.
Paper keeps being
misfed.
Checks
Is the copier in the auto exposure
mode?
Is the copier in the manual exposure
mode?
Was more than one drawer pulled
open at one time?
Is the platen, the slit glass or the
original cover dirty?
Is the slit glass dirty?
Are the originals set correctly?
Is the paper set correctly in the
drawers?
Is paper curled, folded over or
wrinkled?
Is there any misfed paper or loose
scraps of paper remaining inside the
copier?
TROUBLESHOOTING
Action
Adjust exposure settings in the "AUTO
EXPOSURE ADJUSTMENT".
Adjust the exposure to the correct
degree using the manual exposure
adjustment keys.
To adjust the overall exposure,
perform "MANUAL EXPOSURE
ADJUSTMENT".
Pull open the drawer that is closed,
and close it together with the drawer
that could not be closed.
Clean the platen, the slit glass and/or
the original cover.
Clean the slit glass.
When originals are set in the DF, align
them with the original insertion guide
securely.
When originals are set on the platen,
align their edges with the correct
original size indicator lines for their
size.
Set paper correctly.
Copied paper may curl badly and it
may cause paper misfeeds depending
on the type of paper and keeping
state.
Remove the paper from drawer and
turn it over and reset.
Replace the paper with new paper.
Carry out the appropriate procedure to
remove the paper.
