ADDITIONAL FEATURES

SYSTEM DATA LOGGING

An account must be established with Garmin Flight Data Services to make full use of the System Data
NOTE:
Logging feature.
The system provides recording of CAS and CMC messages that occur while the aircraft is on the ground or in
flight, including engine trend and exceedance data and flight phase transition logs. The logged data will include
the message time and the message state (active, inactive or inhibited).
Additionally, the system is capable of logging data packets from the High Speed Data Bus.
The recorded data is then assembled into reports that can be transmitted to Garmin Flight Data Services
using any of three data transmission methods (Wi-Fi, Iridium RUDICS, and Iridium Short Burst Data). The
system selects the appropriate transmission method based on parameters set by the aircraft manufacturer and
communication network availability. Data transmission may be initiated manually when the airplane is on the
ground.
If report transmission is interrupted for some reason (e.g. networks unavailable, hardware failure, loss of
power), the system will attempt to resume sending the reports at the next opportunity. The system ensures the
complete data set is transmitted.
Transmitted reports remain in the system' s memory until they are overwritten by newer data.
Control and monitoring of report transmissions is accomplished through the AUX-REPORT STATUS Page as
seen in Figure 8-104.
To view the Report Status Page:
1) Turn the large FMS Knob on the MFD to select the AUX page group.
2) Turn the small FMS Knob to select AUXILIARY COMMUNICATIONS.
3) If necessary, select the REPORT Softkey to display the AUX-REPORT STATUS Page.
