Chapter 16 3G Monitor

16.1 Summary

Use this screen to look at a summary of devices managed by Vantage CNM that support 3G
monitoring.
Click Monitor > 3G Monitor > Summary to open the screen as shown next.

DESCRIPTION
Select how many records you want to see in each page.
This icon is present if the device is registered, currently online and has a 3G
card installed.
This is the device name. The device's full path shows up when you put your
mouse over this text.
This shows if the managed device is connected to the Internet through
WAN (Ethernet) or WAN (3G).
This shows the 3G card's connection status, whether it is Up, Down, Error
or N/A.
This shows how long the 3G connection has been up (uptime) or down
(downtime). Uptime is indicated by a green arrow pointing up while
downtime is represented by a red arrow pointing down. The time is in
XXhr(s) YYmin(s) ZZsec(s) format.
This shows the signal quality of the 3G card if it is inserted in the device
with no errors. This is represented by a bar graph in ascending height
order. Depending on how many bars are lit green, the 3G connection can
be:
No signal - All bars are grayed out.
Very weak - The smallest bar in the left is lit green.
Weak - The two bars in the left are lit green.
Medium - Three bars from the left are lit green.
Strong - Four bars from the left are lit green.
Very strong - All bars are lit green.
This is N/A if the device is offline or does not have a 3G card inserted.
This shows the 3G outgoing traffic in Bytes/second.
This is N/A if the device is offline or does not have a 3G card inserted.
This shows the 3G incoming traffic in Bytes/second.
This is N/A if the device is offline or does not have a 3G card inserted.
