SYSMAC and SYSMAC-CPT Support Software
If a CQM1 instruction that is not supported by the CPM2C is used in the program, an error will occur when the
program is transferred from the computer to the PC.
Error Log
The error log cannot be displayed. If data has been written to DM 6569 to DM 6599, however, this data will be
incorrectly displayed as the error log. Do not use the information that is displayed.
PC Setup
Some of the CPM2C's PC Setup settings are different from those in the CQM1, so not all settings can be made
from the menus. These settings have to be made by writing data directly to the word containing the setting.
Connecting the CPM2C to a Personal Computer
A computer with SYSMAC-CPT installed can be connected to CPM2C. Connect the Connecting Cable to the
computer and to the peripheral port of the CPM2C. Then turn ON the power supply to the CPM2C.
IBM PC/AT or
compatible
computer
Note 1. If the power is turned ON to the CPM2C without connecting the Connecting Cable to the peripheral
port, the CPM2C will start operation in RUN mode. If the CPM2C starts operation in RUN mode
even though the Connecting Cable is properly connected to the peripheral port, check the PC
Setup settings in the CPM2C.
2. The CPM2C has three operating modes: RUN, MONITOR, and PROGRAM. The CPM2C will operate
in PROGRAM mode when offline. When online, the operating mode of the CPM2C can be changed
from the SYSMAC-CPT.
Operating
mode
PROGRAM
The CPU Unit will stop operation while in PROGRAM mode. The user program can be written or
changed, memory can be cleared, the program can be checked, and other program processing
operations are possible.
MONITOR
The CPU Unit will operate in MONITOR mode and I/O processing is performed the same as in
RUN mode. The following operations are possible in MONITOR mode: monitoring CPU Unit opera-
tion, force-setting/resetting bits in memory, changing timer/counter SVs and PVs, changing the
PVs of word data, online editing, and other operations required for trial operation and adjustments
to the system.
RUN
The CPU Unit will be in full operation in RUN mode. Although CPU Unit operation can be moni-
tored in RUN mode, force-setting/resetting bits in memory and changing the PVs and SVs is not
possible.
SYSMAC Support Software (SSS)
Introduction
The SSS is a complete programming and control package designed for C-series and CVM1 PCs. It provides
not only programming capabilities, but also advanced debugging, monitoring, and program/data management.
For further information and actual operating procedures, please refer to the SYSMAC Support Software Oper-
ation Manuals: Basics and C Series.
CPM2C programming can be performed with any version of the SSS.
